Invest Atlanta and the Atlanta Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) invited #PowerWomenSweat founder Amber Grimes to lead a networking, empowerment, and fitness event for women who contribute daily to the growth of Atlanta.
Held on the final weekend of October in the Atlanta City Hall Atrium, the event recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raised more than $1,100 for the Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta Foundation.
Invest Atlanta CEO Dr. Eloisa Klementich co-hosted the gathering with Candace Byrd, chief of staff for the City of Atlanta, and WEI Director Theia Washington-Smith.
#PowerWomenSweat promotes the maintenance of an active lifestyle and healthy relationships for women through an intense two-hour seminar that includes a networking workshop and dance workout routine.
Grimes described the benefits of her unique program this way: “Women tend to be stripped of their egos in a fitness environment and become more vulnerable, approachable and pleasant. It’s the next generation of networking events, because it actually works!”
