Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Invest Atlanta Board recently approved a resolution to create a new resource, the Atlanta Forward Loan Fund. This new pilot program will support small businesses and startups.
“We wanted to figure out what we can do to continue to cultivate the small business and startup ecosystem,” said Dr. Eloisa Klementich, President & CEO of Invest Atlanta.
The Atlanta Forward Loan fund will provide assistance to small businesses and startup companies located within accelerators, incubators, and other programs that provide capacity building in the City of Atlanta. Loan size will range from $5,000 to $20,000, and between 10 to 20 small business will receive financing. Funding for the new pilot program will be reprogrammed from the City of Atlanta’s Opportunity Loan Fund and managed by Invest Atlanta.
“With initiatives like the Atlanta Forward Loan Fund, we will continue to strengthen Atlanta’s reputation as a top-ranked city for small business owners and entrepreneurs,” said Klementich.
Mayor Bottoms and Invest Atlanta are committed to supporting the nearly 20,000 small businesses that choose to call Atlanta home. The Atlanta Forward Loan Fund joins the list of several other small business resources that Invest Atlanta offers including loan programs, business assistance, ATLInBusiness.com, and more.
