Over the course of 2024, the historic Motel Atlanta has been transformed into The Ralph David House – featuring 54 permanently supportive housing micro-units reserved for those earning 30% of area median income (AMI) or less and who were previously unhoused.
Located on Moreland Avenue in the Reynoldstown community, this transformative redevelopment was made possible by a $550,000 investment from the Beltline Tax Allocation District (TAD) Increment Fund, managed by Invest Atlanta.
The Ralph David House represents some of the many innovative ways Atlanta is serving the homeless population and is part of Mayor Andre Dickens’ historic $60 million commitment to address homelessness and help people find safe, permanent housing.
According to Dr. Eloisa Klementich, president and CEO of Invest Atlanta, homelessness does not look the same for everyone, and there is not a one-size-fits-all solution to combat it. “We continue to think creatively with projects like the Ralph David House to ensure more homeless residents receive the housing and support they deserve faster,” says Eloisa. “Supporting our unhoused population is not just a moral imperative; it also has economic benefits. Reducing homelessness can lower public costs associated with emergency services, healthcare and law enforcement, ultimately leading to savings for taxpayers.”
