Co-Working Leader WeWork Opens 3rd Atlanta Location

WeWork, along with Governor Nathan Deal and leadership from Invest Atlanta and the Metro Atlanta Chamber, celebrated the official grand opening of WeWork’s third location in Atlanta, 1372 Peachtree, and the company’s continued growth in Georgia.

Atlanta is the 5th-largest co-working market in the U.S., with 230,000 square feet of new co-working space added last year, more than twice the space of any other market in the Southeast.

“That’s the kind of momentum that gets me excited,” said Kevin Johnson, Senior Vice President of Economic Development at Invest Atlanta, at the grand opening. “This WeWork expansion further strengthens Atlanta’s reputation as a place where entrepreneurs and small businesses have the support and resources to build their dreams.”

Over the past 8 years, Invest Atlanta has helped more than 69 businesses expand within the City of Atlanta.

“We are thrilled to continue expanding across Georgia with our third Atlanta location, WeWork 1372 Peachtree,” said Bobby Condon, WeWork General Manager for the Southeast. “It is only fitting to build upon this growth in a creative and diverse community like Atlanta but also in the No. 1 state in which to do business. 1372 Peachtree, which will now serve as the WeWork headquarters for the entire southeast region, offers Atlanta’s top creators – people of all ages and companies of all sizes – the space, culture and flexibility that will help recruit and retain the talent they need for their business to flourish.”

Other speakers at the event included Governor Deal, Hala Moddelmog of the Metro Atlanta Chamber,  and Larry Williams of the Technology Association of Georgia. They all welcomed WeWork and congratulated the company on their growth and expansion in Atlanta.

“As the capital of the Southeast, the Hollywood and Silicon Valley of the South, and as the greatest place to live, work, and call home, Atlanta has a thriving startup, tech, music, and creative-industries landscape,” said Deal. “WeWork helps provide these creators with a global network of more than 175,000 members in addition to workspaces, professional services, and resources necessary for success. Whether they be a one-person, two-person, 25-person business or whatever size they may be in their initial stages, this is a great place to be in order to give them that start.”
